Again, I wandered to Coogee alone on a boring day. This time I had to leave my towel at swimwear to carry the heavy zoom lense and the camera. Lucky me, it was a sunny afternoon at the beach was filled with beautiful colors.

Some images from our team's trip to Macquairie Business Park and University. I was really impressed by the modern-design train stations locating at two key points for passengers. From these stations it may take 1 hour to go back to Sydney central area.

blogging assignments

I find myself having a lot of ideas for blogging, many of which I failed to fulfill as a serious long-term project. I created many and deleted many too. Can't have enough time for such 'cosmopolitan' past-time haha.

It's good that one of my class this semester gives us the right to choose any form for our assignment. this ideal of using digital and less formal but richer in content is of course by a not-young-anymore-but-still-kool professor,  Micheal Neuman.

I chose blogging for both of the two class projects: a simple journal and and more complicated one for 'City Observation' project.

Here are they in new-born form but soon grown-up at the end of the semester.

Harry's Cafe de Wheels

My new mate took me to this wonderful take-a-way food shop in Woollomooloo Wharf. I ordered a Chicken 'Tiger' pie and was so satisfied with its smash of chicken, potato, avocado. There was also a 'hall of fame' on which hung photos of many celebrity-visitors since 1945. Not far from this place is the Finger wharf number 11 where, I heard that, located one apartment of Russell Crowe and an area of small terrace house for Aboriginal people.

Fairday - the homo side

All love is equal

 I think Fairday is a very well-organized event where heterosexual and homosexual people, adults and children, local and tourists, visitors and passer-bys all mingles together harmoniously. It's hard to say this is a food festival, or a dog festival or a specific homo event. I could only see a fair where everybody in Sydney can come and enjoy a sunny-Sunday picnic.

Fairday is a kick-off for Sydney Mardi Gras season. This is a 'fun, friendly picnic in the sun for family, friends and our besties" (Mardigras.org) 

Last night

my FB status today: "Yesterday diary: drawing from morning to 5:30 p.m. 7:00 go out and have an expensive steak by Darling Harbour. A city walk. Then a drive to somewhere totally strange to me for the beach in midnight. then back to Uni. at about 1 a.m. Then "InDesign" til 5 a.m, send email to the art director. Home finally to sleep. I ♥ this life!" 

NYE

We came quite late at 9 p.m and had no hope to get through the gates to come closer to the water-front. This view was our last hope. 

We stood there for 3 hours to wait for the midnight fireworks. As time got closer to midnight, the crowd started to get chaotic. Some aggressive men tried to push the gate. The situation looked no different from political strikes. 

Not all people accepted the situation.

Finally there came the rock show.

People began to leave Circular Quay, but the whole CBD was still packed

Queuing in lines for another hour to catch the rite bus to get home. 

At this time of the year, there are so many travellers staying Eastern suburbs of Sydney. That's why the lines  for bus 392, 394 and 396 were the longest.

An lucky night trip

I followed a mate to EVENTS cinema to buy tickets for a movie. We still had 45 minutes til showtime, so we head to QVB (Queen Victoria Building) hanging out there enjoy the fabulous ambient of one the oldest department store in Sydney. QVB reminded me of the Eden Mall of Saigon. But Eden was destroyed for a new-but-in-old-style department store. Still fabulous though.

Then we head back to EVENTs to enjoy the not-so-excellent "Paranormal activity 4". However, it worked well making audience nervous during the showtime. It was early to end a night out when the movie ended so we walked to Darling Harbour just to find a place to sit down. There seeing people were gathering around the harbour, we recognized that there would be firework. We were so lucky!

Finally sat down at Circular Quay, with some McDonald chips and coke.
