I had a chance to go visit one of the greatest cities this summer. Right when I got of the plane and arrived downtown New York, I took my camera and strolled out through the busy streets of New York City. I wanted to capture the great culture and street aesthetic of New York and I think it turned out really well. The video includes recordings from both Manhattan and Brooklyn, where I spend hours capturing the culture and everyday life of native New Yorkers.

I think it's a kool idea to buy a whole town. If I had the money, I'd do that, then I'd plan and run the town by myself haha. It's like an architect buy a land and buy his own house, but this is much BIGGER!

The legendary presentation

I'm still in middle of his biography. I think some people who chose him as their idol for their career of technology should check again. They might consider Bill Gate rather than Steve Jobs. On the other side, some who find themselves more an artist or a salesman can go on admiring this guy undoubtedly.

He's not that great as I used to think. He's an bastard, a reality-bender, maybe an extremist also. But he's truly a genius, an artist, a great inventor. Above all, I like this man most for his presentation style, thinking he mastered the art of performance as both a creator and a marketer.

I need the codes

While reading Cyburbia threads, I found a question about building code. And some provided diagrams. However, the best thing was provided is this page : Municode.com

They have a very clear system so that I can find codes of every state in their country.
Accessing a data base of construction management is what architects, planners usually do, to not just make their projects fit well but also reduce effectively the cost of time and money. Well, I was glad to know "moc.gov.vn" website but I think it should be improved a lot and it admins should learn more from other sites among which Municode.com is a good choice.
At the time of posting this entry, I can't access the MOC's web.

Once was an American Dream

A town with no house taxes and other complicated things.
A town in which everybody works for the same employer.
A town that is almost totally safe from outside world, especially crime.

I read about Scotia, California this morning from a set of photo on Newsweek. It's an interesting model of a company-owned community. And, as mentioned at the end of the article, Scotia wouldn't be the last when Google or Facebook decide to build something for their own employees.

If there is any architectural firm do so, I would apply for them right now.
