Fairday is a kick-off for Sydney Mardi Gras season. This is a 'fun, friendly picnic in the sun for family, friends and our besties" (Mardigras.org) 

My favorite part of the event: the stage.

In this photo a NSW Police band with a female vocalist was excellently performing popular songs.
