“indulging your appreciation for history, architecture, and non-standard notions of beauty, chances to appreciate little-seen architecture, going where boring ‘normal’ people would never even dream of going, and using your wits to avoid detection/arrest (often narrowly).”

"...Ventures into abandoned structures are perhaps the most common example of urban exploration. At times, sites are entered first by locals, and may sport large amounts of graffiti and other acts of vandalism. And I ...
I like the idea of exploring the cities that we're living in. I myself love riding around the city center on my motobike, to the streets that rarely go through or just look at the so-familiar street with another view at another point of time.
But, my city is crowded. I don't think there are enough abandoned buildings ( in a large enough area) or undiscovered space for those urban-explorers. Moreover, though they say it's a free activity, protection gears are surely not cheap at all.
However, in the following years, when the currently-underconstruction structures in Saigon getting old and left empty, and more young people knows about urban exploration, I believe there will be articles about Saigonese Urban Explorers appear on Tuoitre.com.vn, Thanhnien.com.vn ...etc.
