Survive in Saigon (1)

Youtube-ing the word "Saigon", I find this cool clip of foreign tourists trying to crossing the streets which they call "the craziest traffic in the world".

I also find some other kool stuffs with the same keyword.
I know how weird to the tourists my Saigon is when they risk themselves getting with the traffic. But even to the local citizens, there are still a lot more to learn to survive such as alternative ways for traffic jams, shortcuts...

The foreigners have their place for entertainment the whole night in Pham Ngu Lao - De Tham district, and I guess they may be satisfied with it. However, young local guys like me prefer cheaper places to spend the wild night. I and my friends keep extending our limit every hang-out.

With my adult friends, who mostly are about 30 year-old, the record was backing home at 3 a.m after dancing here and there and almost exhausted at Pham Ngu Lap - De Tham district. But that's no surprise because clubs and bars in "disctrict for foreigners" seem to get their kind of license to til morning.
Saigonese love Karaoke. Usually we start at about 7 p.m to 9p.m and end our singing-party at 9 p.m to midnight. The city principle forces entertaining places to close before 12. However, some "VIP" karaokes have appeared to provide extended hours, with "vip" prices of course. Their seemingly limit of time is 1:30 am. This type of karaoke is so advantageous to both the customers, the providers and the local government. Don't ask me why, hehe. After that, lights are turned off and people go home.
At no surprise, some crazy night even seems to have no "home". Just last week, our party on the pavement of Pasteur street started at 11:30 pm and ended at nearly 2 a.m. I thought that must have been the end but my crazy old-school mates took me out of the boundary, to a dark and closed karaoke near Le Van Sy bridge - yes, to start the singing-night. The house light status was just fake. They still operated inside and ready to serve any new group of customers. That night, we sang and danced drinking beer til all exhausted at 5 a.m, when the morning came.
We just survived the night !
