Co-housing must be nothing new but still a strange type of community in my country and it may be in that status for some more years for many reasons. However, I like it and still wanna share some information that I've got here with any readers of my blog, or at least give their spare time a word to google.
I think Cohousing.org is a very good step to learn about this type of residence.
They provide straight links to answer basic questions about Co-housing such as:
- What is co-housing ?
- 6 Defining characteristics of Co-housing
and also a virtual tour with images from built co-housing communities.
Readers can google the names of those villages to get more information and images.
I myself found the Davis Village homes, California and felt eager to make a comparison to the built communities in my countries, or at least communites in Vietnam that I knew, after checking main features of this energy-efficient and aesthetically pleasing village. The comparison always lead to positive and negative results. One is a feeling of ashamed and the other the desire to do something to change, albeit I know an architect doesnt have a full power to design any perfect communities. However, change it comes eventually. I long for the day I see a co-housing community in my country built and possessed so that I would believe all the pros and cons about it.

Finally and very personally. on typing this entry, I was listening to the ABBA song " Mamma mia". I had just watched it on HBO and got high spirit about life, again. If you have time, enjoy it here:
