We heard of the concert about months ago and it really got every guys and gals born in 1980s excited whether they were BSB's fans or not. The most troubling subject was the ticket price, and how to find "free-ticket". I'm not a crazy fans of these guys so I just say "Free tickets, I'll go. Paid tickets, forget them!"
Yep, there are always free-tickets in any big shows by international stars. College students, voluntary workers( usually college students and big fans), people in show-biz, people from medias, people in foreign relationship, etc. I was not any one of those but a lucky guy who had a friend with good relationship with those and she gave me a couple of tickets at 5:00 pm on the day of the show. That was really good!
The concert took place at Quan Khu 7 Stadium, a right place for any biggest shows in Saigon and also the choice of Bi Rain, My Chemical Romance, Krypteria. Quite differently from all others, "This is us" was more professionally organized. They utilized all the area of the stadium surroundings to create an essential space for gatherings and security, while other shows usually left some space for parkings (for some more cash obviously). They also had plastic chair seats on the stadium yard, classified clearly by types of ticket. However, I didn't like that much. I prefer standings to seating, especially in such shows. If they wanted to classify, they just needed some fences, that's all!
I was far from the stage but can still enjoyed the show. Sometimes I needed the two big screens to see the details, the faces of the boys to be sure "they are truly BSB". On the other hand, the sound system wasn't good enough so most of audiences at my distance heard something like "my neighborhoods are playing music". See, that was the price of free tickets, and although I was satisfied, I felt sorry for those who paid millions of VND for seats like mine.
Another interesting thing was my seat was near to many celebrities' and entertainers. People wondered why such people had to sit at such a distance. I think their tickets are free too. Lol. A friend of mine said "such an American way!", so fair.
Later that night, my friend Hoa messaged me and told me that BSB will visit a club where he would perform his fashion collection. It was unbelieavable to me at first, but Hoa was sure. So, right after the show, I went to Ocean Club on Nguyen Tat Thanh and waited. That night was the opening or re-opening of the club. It was re-built from a large factory or warehouse in the Saigon port area so it provided very large parking lots and the club was surely spacious. Its air was still good even when it got full crowded.
When BSB came, every eye was on them but there were only AJ and Nick. Nick was no more cute but still a handsome guy. And AJ now looked more like Vin Diesel. We stood about 8 metres from them but could hardly have a full view of them for a lot bodyguards and staffs. Then we soon forgot them, and danced, and got drunk, haha. A crazy night! I came home at 2:45 a.m.
So sorry I brought a camera but the security in Ocean Club politely prevented any intention to shoot even just among us. That's fine!
Tonight BSB is having their last "This is us" performance in Vietnam at My Dinh national stadium, Hanoi. I hope they would have better sound quality. Enjoy, Hanoi!
