Now, all those fixings are done, I have some spare moments to breathe again. It's been quite long since my last post here and been really long since I posted something truly mine here.
Recently, I've become interested in reading everything, every subject not just art and architecture like before. And I found out Times magazine is a decent source to devour. That's the reason today's first subject is something I'm fond of from Times.
Detroit: Now a Ghost Town

So kool is this illustration !
Some things I knew about Detroit was that this is a city of car production (auto-industry) and there is also a style of music named Detroit. Here I see how deeply things can be affected by the drop of an industry. Other examples for this could be found in my country such as Nam Dinh city - with the collapsing of Nam Dinh Weaving Factory, new city Van Tuong with the lower-developed-than-expected chemical industry.
At last, a question rose in my mind " Can city design/planning activities contribute any solution? " Maybe the problem locates at a higher level.

These images I found in Bldgblog that took my breathe away, just like what the author of the blog said "The images are fantastic, and the project description hooked me right away:". Read more at Bldgblog.com
Back to reality - my hometown Saigon is under its annual hot season. Very hot! Going out or staying at home without air-conditioning is both hell. I wish I could re-build my house now so that I could have a large basement with controlled-natural-light, some small water feature to cool things down and certainly a couch to nap. So great when people can create shelters that are totally contrary to the outside environment!
