The axis of Nguyen Van Troi - Nam Ky Khoi Nghia street runs from Tan Binh Dist., through Phu Nhuan Dist., Dist. 3 to Dist. 1. It's the straight way from Tan Son Nhat (currently) international airport to the city center of Saigon that not only foreign visitors but also international politician enjoy the first impression of the cityscape from their vehicles. Thus, there's no doubt this axis is prior to be finished soonest in the streets renovation project of the government.
On one of the first days of the Lunar New Year 2010, on my way to the city center, I took some photos to record for myself the result of such a "simple touch to the streetscape".

The street now looks more modern than ever. Some even say " it now looks like those in foreign countries", referring to the flat and modern organized streets seen in Singapore and other higher developed nearby cities in South East Asia.

Not only new street surface, the doubled-size Cong Ly bridge is another decent transformation in the route.

Dist. 1 - after the infrastructure improvement, a lot of new trees appeared beside their old very Saigonese precessors as the final touch of renovation. I looooovvvee this new look of the streets and I long for finishes from other streets around the city!
These photos were taken during TET holidays, when the city population unsurprisingly reduced to its true number. It's hard to get oneself stuck in a traffic jam or find a traffic police man then.
